Oxjam Kilburn: Take The High Road - is a brand new festival taking place along the oft overlooked Kilburn High Road, on Sunday 25th October. With venues like The Luminaire, The Westbury, The Good Ship, Power's, Tricycle Theatre, The Cock Tavern and the North London Tavern, it's almost unbelievable to think that it hasn't been done sooner. Oxjam and The Velvet Sneaker proudly present a festival to raise money for Oxfam's climate change campaign, while also celebrating this fine locale by bringing together a thoughtful, complementary set of artists.
The Velvet Sneaker - is the promoter curating the overall direction of the event. After successfully raising over £2000 during a 3-day, 17-band event at the Troubadour in Earl's Court, the West London outfit set their sights on taking over a part of town that's bursting with well respected music venues. Many have talked about putting a festival on across the venues of Kilburn but The Velvet Sneaker has risen to the challenge. And it will be a challenge. Travel
Kilburn is in a great location, 2 and a half miles from Marble Arch and just 2 miles from both Notting Hill and Camden.
We encourage all festival-goers to use public transport, cycle, or even walk!
Trains:
Kilburn - Jubilee Line
Kilburn Park - Bakerloo Line
Brondesbury & Kilburn High Road stations will be closed on Sunday 25 October for planned engineering works.
Buses:
16, 31, 32, 98, 189, 206, 316, 328, 332 plus night buses N16, N28, N31, N98 - all serve Kilburn High Road.
